Art with a Message
We’re big on creativity and empowerment. That’s why Nicole by OPI likes to advocate people and projects that carry a great message, like that of our Blogger Spotlight on Poor Little It Girl. So when we stumbled upon Candy Chang’s website we nearly fell out of our seats. She’s taken on multiple creative ventures that made us wish they were happening locally, so we could participate and feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
What we love most is the subtle ways she uses her art to say something powerful. From neighborhood Post-its that allow residents to state how much they pay to live in New York to freedom of expression posters, her work speaks volumes and tells a tale of simple ways you can change minds. Our favorite of her projects is Before I die, a wall that allowed the community to name one thing they hope to do before they die. The responses were heart-felt and ambitious and for those passing by, maybe even motivating.
